What Is Big W’s Return Policy?

BIG W has a long time frame for returns. Within 90 days of your purchase, you can get your money back from the store.

You might even be able to trade. To make a return, you’ll need the product, receipt, or other proof that you bought it.

The items must be in their original, resaleable packaging and have all their parts. The item can’t have been worn or used. If the product goes bad, it can’t be past its expiration date.

90-Day Change of Mind Big W  Returns Policy

You have 90 days to return a product to BIG W if you change your mind about it. In addition to the rights, you have under the Australian Consumer Law, which are explained in their Faulty Goods Returns Policy, this policy gives you more rights.

Returns within 90 days

BIG W will gladly give you a refund or exchange within 90 days of your purchase, as long as you have proof of purchase and the item:

  • It is still in its original condition and packaging, which can be sold, and comes with all its parts.
  • Hasn’t been worn or used, and if it’s perishable, it hasn’t gone bad.
  • is not a personalized item, digital download, pre-paid card, voucher, or clearance item

You could return it at any BIG W store, even if you bought something online. Only the method of payment listed on your proof of purchase will be used to give you a refund.  Please note that you can’t get your delivery fees back if you change your mind about an online order.

Important note: Due to something that has never happened before, from March 25, 2020, until further notice, they won’t give you a refund if you change your mind about products you bought at BIG W in the following categories:

  • Toilet paper, paper towels, and tissues
  • Soaps, cosmetics, toiletries, feminine hygiene and incontinence, pain relief
  • Cleaning (anti-bacterial wipes, sprays, cleaners, disposable gloves)
  • Nappies and baby wipes
  • Pet Food

If you’ve bought extra things you don’t want, they encourage you to give them to people who need them, especially the elderly, disabled, and others in our community who are most at risk.

The Australian Consumer Law says that all their goods and services have guarantees that can’t be taken away. If the service fails in a major way, you are entitled to:

  • To end the service contract you have with them;
  • To a refund for what wasn’t used or payment for what it’s worth now.

You can also get a refund or a new one if a big problem comes up with the goods. If something goes wrong with the goods or service, but it’s not a big deal, you have the right to fix it in a reasonable amount of time.
